The broadcaster became a member of the EBU on July 5, 2007 and can therefore take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, joining neighbours Georgia and Armenia for the first time in the 2008 contest.
İTV is one of the few broadcasters in Eurovision which is not state-run or owned.
