It’s ok to kill in the UK if your somebody.

by SteveINtheUKok

Le digo yo

What can you say to a shocking, sickening and quite frankly disgusting story that appeared on the BBC News website tonight regarding a peer, Lord Ahmed that killed Martyn Gombar, 28, from Leigh, Greater Manchester, while texting on his mobile phone while driving at high speed on the country’s main motorway (freeway). Click here to visit the BBC News website story

This murderer, yes, murderer is to be set free on a 12 months suspended sentence. I say murderer because this crime was premeditated and he knew the dangers of the actions he was taking. Lord Ahmed, of Rotherham, sent and received a series of five text messages while driving in the dark along a 17-mile stretch of the motorway (freeway). That is murder as certain as if he had slain the other person with any other weapon in my opinion.

While the court has said that Mr Gombar had crashed his car and Lord Ahmed would not have avoided hitting him, as someone who drives a lot I can say with certainty that even a second on the brake or a moment turning the steering wheel can have a massive change on the outcome of an accident. Texting, distracted and unaware of what was happening in front of him, Lord Ahmed was unable to take ANY evasive action at all.

It was shocking enough that this lunatic was only given 12 months for killing someone in this manner but to then have that 12 month sentence suspended is a travesty of justice. How must the family of the deceased feel right now?

I am so angry, no one, no one at all should get only 12 months for such a crime and to have that small punishment removed is beyond words themselves. What message does that send out?

Sometimes you just have to wonder why you bother getting up in the morning when things like this happen.

Crazy, Ludicrous and Criminal.

Too good to be true for the man in the mirror?

by SteveINtheUKok

50

This blog is all about me expressing myself and when I get a gut feeling I am going to share it with you all, and as I said in my last post I’d really like you to comment or email me with your thoughts too, that way I can reply and we can get a good conversation started between us all.

Right, onto my topic du jour!

There is a certain music artist that is booking a large concert venue here in the UK for an ever increasing number of performances, at present that number is up to 45 nights!

Now while I hope that every single last person goes, has fun and comes back with the best memories of these events my little voice inside my head ( I am thinking Auntie Vera Charles and her conscience here! ) is screaming out.

I hate to be a doubting Thomas but 45 days, really? And each and every one of those dates is going to be amazing and wonderful and a spectacle and you will hear all your favorite songs….hmmm

Here is what I really think, the first few shows will be massive, world class events and then it will start to go downhill. The shows will get shorter and shorter until near the end they last for maybe 30-45 mins and I suspect one or two will last even less time.

People are out there paying silly amounts to buy these tickets, up to £10,000 ($14,000) on eBay and it’s not really them I feel sorry for. It is the small hard working fans that will buy these tickets, pay their travel costs, their hotel costs and make this an event to remember. It is for those I fear the worst.

Now I may be wrong and as I said at the start I hope I am but once these massive stars get the cheques and the big wheels are in motion there is not a lot the little guy can do.

I do sound defeatist today but then that is my opinion, so what do you think? Am I wrong? Or am I right?

Hit the comment button or fire me off an email.

(Archerr, this is a topic for the gangbang shows! no?)

Here is another hint:

UPDATED:

The total number of shows is now at the 50 mark as of March 12th. With now over 1 million seats sold. (That’s a lot of iphone lighter falme apps!)

Chocolate Tax?!

by SteveINtheUKok

]Delicious or Dangerous?

A doctor in Scotland wants to tax chocolate is he right or should we be more concerned with overall fat and sugar content?

“Dr David Walker, a GP in Lanarkshire, said many people eat their entire daily calorie requirement in chocolate, on top of their normal meals.
The doctor said chocolate used to be seen as a “treat” but had now become an harmful addiction for some.”

Now while I am sure he is partially correct, I have often wondered if we really should tax food based on their fat and sugar content as that is what is putting the weight on.

It would be very difficult to make people exercise unless we employed a nation full of fat cops to whip us into a frenzy ( Now Big Fatty it’s only an idea, don’t get too excited just yet!) but it would be relatively easy to come up with fat and sugar taxes in a similar way to alcohol taxes.

This should make high fat, high sugar foods less attractive especially to lower income households, we would of course need to not spend that lovely money on paying back our bailout plans but to reduce the price of good foods such as vegetables in the uk that could be done by employing a negative VAT (Value Added Tax) rate.

What are your thoughs? Do we just let people do as they wish and more than likely watch our future generations suffer the effects of obesity as our generation is suffering or do we try and do something positive? Or do you think future generations having seen the problems will solve this for themselves?

Leave me a comment and let us all know! Love to know your views.
